AC Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palette

I've been experimenting quite a number of products in cosmetics. Sometimes I feel like spending too much in cosmetic too! But I'm so addicted to try new product~ Recently I'm more curious in the more cheaper or affordable makeups. One day, I went to 100 Yen Store (Japanese Company). 100 Yen equal to RM 5. So I picked up a bunch of makeup products. Here is my review on them, the AC Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palette!

Frankly, they are not pigmented at all and chalky in textures. I won't complain about the quality as they were only RM 5 each. The main reason I bought them is to show you all how I make the poor quality eyeshadow works! Hope you enjoy the videos and get some ideas how to make your own existing poor pigmentation eyeshadow works ~ Thanks.

NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder For Those Movie Star Brows (Blonde)

I like it.. Actually I'm not so particular in choosing types of eyebrows product. As long as they are not too much essence of red tone. I prefer to use more to essence of yellow tone for brows. It looks more natural for me. What I find in this product is the powder last longer on my brows. As you know, my entire face gets very oily throughout the day. Some of the eyebrows products that I'd tried got rubbed off when I was trying to blot off the oiliness on my brows but this does not rubbed off..

e.l.f. Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder

I'm been loving this product a lots! My skin tone is in medium (typical Asian color). Most of the peoples love the bronzing more than blush. For me, I love the blush more because the blush is not too pink (looks more natural) and there is tiny golden shimmers (which gives an illusion of healthy glow)

The bronzing powder is not bad also but I personally prefer matte bronzing powder rather than with shimmers. No doubt that most of the peoples think that the shimmers do not show up as much but my skin is really oily throughout the day.. It just looks not nice on my face. But I still do use it once a while or even I used it on my clients which have dry skin

Here are the swatches on my hand.

Coastal Scents 42 Double Stack Palette (Blush & Shadow Matte Shades)

Coastal Scents
42 Double Stack Palette
Blush & Shadow Matte Shades

 They are GORGEOUS~

As you can see on the pictures, they look great by its own without any primer on the swatches. The company claims that they all are matte shades. I would say YES and NO. For the fact that they all matte shades but some of them got sheen, tiny shimmers, or even a more obvious fine glitters...

You probably can't tell on the pictures but at real, they mostly not totally matte. I still do like them as the finishing are different from what I had earlier.

The blushes are great too! I like the fact of they all are in different kinds of finishing too. Some matte, some got a little bit of sheen, some with shimmers~

 The disappointment is..

This particular shade stained my eyelids!!!!!
I'm so afraid to do makeup for my customer using this palette. So far, I haven't try out all the shades yet on my eyelids. I do not know which else shade will stain like this do.

Overall, I still think this is a good investment though. Because I only spent US$ 10 (not included shipping) for this palette. If included everything, it cost me about RM 85.60

Original Price: US$ 24.95

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation (For Combination/ Oily Skin)

COMPARISON
Company claims that:

                 Old Version                                                                        New Version

1. up to 16hrs stay power                                                                1. up to 24hrs stay power
2. with Softflex technology                                                               2.  -
3. has SPF6                                                                                   3. has SPF6

Actually I don't feel any different between these 2 versions. For me, they are still the same. Here are my thoughts about this product:

- both of them have an exact same smell. Smell like Methylated Spirit~
- in my opinion, they are in medium coverage only
- both of them dry very quick. Have to work out fast part by part... I find that blending with fingers are better to cover the pores. If I use sponge still okay but less coverage compare with fingers blend
- both of the shades are not my exact skin color. I need to mix with other product to adjust it to my skin color. The Warm Golden shade is the nearest to my skin color.
-both doesn't last exactly as the company claims. On my face maybe lasted for about 3 hours only (matte finish). Oil still showing off more and more throughout the day but surprisingly the makeup stay put. All need to do is blotting off the oil using oil clear paper
- they don't clots my pores and I don't have problems with acne
- Overall, I like it but not the insanely great. I believe there are more better ones in the market

NIVEA Visage Daily Essentials Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes

NIVEA Visage Daily Essentials Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes
(Normal & Combination Skin)

The company claims that:

- it cleanse, tone and invigorate in one easy step
Cleanse in the sense of wipe off visible to semi visible makeup on my face. But to make sure that my face is thoroughly clean, I still will use my Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil. There is no short cut for removing makeup.

I use this product in 2 manners; pre- cleansing or post- cleansing and whenever my face starts to looks greasy when I'm not having any makeup on. I'm not sure about the toning and invigorating factors as I don't feel anything different compared with other brand makeup wipes..

- removes makeup and waterproof mascara for a fresh skin feeling
Well, I've tried to remove my L'oreal waterproof mascaras but not quite successful. Yes, I do feel my face is more fresh~

Pros and Cons:

You see, one side of the wipe is made in such design. Some people think it is great for the purpose of better removing dirt properties, some people thinks it is a little too harsh for the skin. For me, I felt both ways. When I'm trying hard to remove waterproof stain on my face, it serve the purpose. But when I'm doing my whole face cleansing, I'll feel too harsh for my skin. I have acne skin. When I rub too vigorously, it tends to make my skin over reacts, producing more oils...

Overall, I still couldn't find any great wipes in Malaysia that I can recommend.

RIMMEL Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Transferproof Lip Tint + Balm

RIMMEL Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Transferproof Lip Tint + Balm
(Nothing But Nude, 700)

This is the first drugstore brand come out with lips stain, kind of marker pen type in Malaysia. I know lip stain or marker type lip products have been out in the market at least few years back in Western Countries but Asia is a quite back- dated.

Price: Can't remember now. Will update later~

So, let's talk about the product. The company claims that it is transferproof. As on my lips, I still notice the color stained on my cup when I'm drinking.. Em... it may last longer and more nature looking on the lips, but it also quite drying. Because of it is a little bit dry, it comes with balm on the another end. The disadvantage is when I applied the balm after lips stain, the color transfers even worst.

This is the swatch on my hand. It looks quite natural nude color to me. But when I applied to my lips, it turns out more red in color. It is due to my natural lips color is pink. Overall, I still like it but if only I could find a color that can tone down my natural lips color then it will be great~

Batiste Dry Shampoo (Original) VS Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo

Batiste Dry Shampoo (Original)

To find a dry shampoo in Malaysia it is extremely difficult and pricey. To find a spray bottled dry shampoo is even harder and more expensive. Dry shampoos in my country are normally in powder form. They sprinkles and comb away. Most of the time people here don't like it as they don't feel refreshing and it forms whitish patches on the hair. I found this product at Hong Kong, Bonjour.

My hair naturally black brownish in color and my scalp is really oily. Basically, I need to wash my hair everyday as my scalp become very itchy and oily in the evening. When I spray this product to my scalp, I notice that there are some white patches too but after I've massage it into my scalp, it disappear. After applying this, I notice that my hair visibly become shine free and more volume. I also do feel more refresh~

Price: HK$ 35.90 (+ RM 14.70)
                                                  (150ml @ 5.05 fl. oz net wt 90g)

I've tried Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo which I bought from Sephora, Kuala Lumpur before the Batiste.I personally feel that this product do not eliminate most of the greasiness on my hair. After I spray this on my hair, I still notice that my hair looks a bit shinny but in more healthy and manageable way (if it make sense~). Yes, it does give more volume to my hair compared with Batiste. I did not notice any whitish patches so far when I use this product on my hair.

Price: + RM 89 (net wt 142g 5oz)

Winner for:-

Feeling Refresh/ Clean: Batiste Dry Shampoo (Original)
Absorb Oil: Batiste Dry Shampoo (Original)

Overall I like the most: Batiste Dry Shampoo (Original) win!

L'oreal Color Infaillible/ Indefectible (Ultra Concentrated Color Eyeshadows)

Again, you can't find these products in Malaysia yet. You can find it nearest at Singapore, but with limited color choice.I've seen once at Singapore. They have green, gold and brown only. I bought these at Hong Kong, Colourmix. There, you can find more colors. I picked up 4 as it is on sales.

Original Price: HK$ 89 (+ RM 36.30) each
After Discount: HK$ 54.50 (+ RM 22.20) each

From left to right:

Forever Pink (004),
Magnetic Coral (039),
 Endless Chocolat (012),
All Night Blue (006)

They are truely pigmented as seen in dry swatches but they tend to fade after few hours. By right, the company claims that they have 24H hold. Maybe because my oily eyelids are the culprit, who knows~

The disadvantage is I find that when it's open the air for a period of times, the product will become harden. Harden until you cannot pick up any color out of the pot! So, make sure the lid is always air tight! Overall, I will still recommend these products. Good investment though...

I have no idea why the color choices are so inconsistent. It seems like every country is stocking up different products. WHY?? Why they don't make it standardize? You know, it is so difficult to find international raved products because they always come with different kind of packaging, labeling, name, or design.

Updates (4th December 2012)
These pigmented eyeshadows are now available in Malaysia! Yea~ Today I spotted it at Drugstore Guardian. It is RM35.90 each. Unfortunately, there are only 4 colors available. Go and check it out now before it sell out!

L'oreal Lash Architect 4D False Lash Effect in 4 Dimensions (Waterproof)

L'oreal Lash Architect 4D False Lash Effect in 4 Dimensions (Waterproof)

 4D refers to:-
                   1st D: Volumised
                   2nd D: Lengthened
                   3rd D: Texturised
                   4th D:  Curved

Price: HK$ 139 ( about RM 56.10)
Recently I spotted this in Malaysia. It is a bit cheaper

It has slightly slanted mascara wand with a little tapered in front. I started to use this product about 1 month ago. It is still a little wet to me. I always have problem with picking up too much product on the wand even I tried to get ride on the tip. I also tend to accidentally over applied touching my upper and lower eyelids... Hopefully after a longer period of use, it will get a bit drier.

Yes, it is waterproof but not oil- proof. That's mean I still get smudging under eye especially on my left eye (maybe due to the way my eyelashes growth)

(updated 1/8/2012)
I'm so curious what's going on.. Recently I saw this product sold out every where. There is no special discount, no promotion.. why? I don't feel like this is "god sent" product. Why they are sold out??

(updated 3/11/2012)
Recently I found that the formula of the product changed. Maybe it is because of it dries up a little compared with newly bought. The mascara seems to be flaky~

Maybelline Eyestudio 24H Lasting Shine Gel Shadow

Maybelline Eyestudio 24H Lasting Shine Gel Shadow in BR-1
Price: HK$ 35 (+ RM 14.30)

Yea~ I'm so happy that I bought this at Hong Kong. Actually I was trying to look for Color Tattoo as all of the You Tubers raving about but unfortunately Malaysia and Hong Kong not available. When I first saw this product, I'm thinking maybe the company named the Color Tattoo differently in Asia Market. Till now, I still don't know are they same or not. But anyway, I bought it at Watsons as it was on sale!!! Haha..

The company label claims that it last 24 hours. Honestly, I never encounter any makeup lasted for 24H in my live even the product labeled 24H! So, I don't really put high hope that it can last for 24H. On my eyelids, I would say it last about 6 hours without creasing. (My eyelids are very oily for your information). I personally don't use cream or gel product as main eyeshadow color because I'm living in such warm/ hot environment. Plus, my eyelids are so oily throughout the day. If I used too much of cream or gel product on my eyelids, my eyelids will develop tiny little oil spot (as you can see on the picture above)

~ Overall, I think it is still a good investment ~

Brown Eye Look is more to warm climate.  E.g. Autumn. Orange kind of blushes compliment each other. So, here I used this palette which pink mixed with orange

Lastly, I used the Coastal Scents 88 Metal Mania Palette for the shinny lipcolors.
